Here is our list of the best beaches to go to, to please the whole family.
For water sports and activities:
Kapalua Beach: A sheltered volcanic beach with blue water. The bay provides calm waters which are perfect for trying snorkelling, paddle boarding. Or if you just want to watch, the soft sand is great for sunbathing and just relaxing. There are also public toilets, showers, and a lifeguard so it is very family friendly.
D.T. Fleming Beach Park: A popular surfing beach, with reliable surf breaks. You can also try bodyboarding here if you don’t fancy surfing. There are also lots of nice shady areas for those who just want to watch!
Wailea Beach: A picturesque beach ideal for snorkelling. Located near popular resorts, with world class restaurants, shops, and entertainment, this beach is perfect for a family day out. Enjoy the clear blue water and soft white sand, sunbathe, or try swimming to see how many tropical fish you can see.
For relaxing:
Kaanapli Beach: Three miles of uninterrupted white sand, surrounded by palm trees and blue water, the perfect beach for relaxing on the sand, reading a book, and watching the world go by. There is also a snorkelling area at the northern end of the beach called “Black Rock”. A favourite with many Maui visitors, this is a must see beach.
Hamoa Beach: A secluded beach with an almost private feel, only 900ft long, but it makes up for It in its beauty. Hamoa Beach has unique grey sand made from volcanic rock and coral but is silky smooth unlike most other volcanic sand. Here you can enjoy peace and feel at one with nature.
