Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel

This Hawaii hotel really gives you a wow factor as you walk into the breezy open-air lobby overlooking the ocean pool and gardens. This is a great hotel for your honeymoon in Hawaii or special holiday in Hawaii, situated on the sunny Kohala Coast. Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel has defined Big Island luxury since its opening in 1994 and is an ideal place for your holidays to Big Island, Hawaii. As the second phase in Rockefeller's creation of Mauna Kea Resort, the hotel property shares 1,839 acres of oceanfront paradise with the legendary Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

A predominant feature of Hapuna is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface creating natural artesian fountains. The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named "Hapuna" or "Spring of Life" in the Hawaiian language.

The hotel is home to an Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed 18-hole championship golf course. Featuring spectacular views of the Kohala Coast and the Pacific, with snow-capped Mauna Kea volcano as a backdrop. Hapuna's challenging play and environmental sensitivity make it one of Hawaii's most unique golf courses.

When you choose to stay at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, you are a guest of Mauna Kea Resort, offering double the options in beaches, dining, golf, spa and resort activities.

What Our Experts Say

What a stunning resort. The entrance is via the carefully manicured golf course and as you drive around this wonderful space you are greeted at the hotel entrance by half a dozen very tall trees with white bark majestically at the hotels entrance. Entering the stone floored lobby you have the beautiful aspect of the hotels pool gardens and beach through the glass free window frames, what a fantastic view, it was absolutely breathtaking! All in all this is a very stylish hotel with perfect grounds and a wonderful beach! The fact that you can share the facilities at the nearby Mauna Kea is a win win for anyone’s stay! Be sure to dine at the open-air Reef Lounge.
